Scott Valley Focus Thanksgiving Food Giveaway

By Marilyn Seward

The board members of the Scott Valley Focus, Inc. send a huge thank you to all the community members who made this year’s Thanksgiving dinner food boxes possible. We are grateful for the individuals and organizations who contributed time, food and funds for the 160+ Scott Valley families. Volunteer drivers delivered food boxes to families without transportation. Special appreciation goes to the Etna Methodist Church for providing the space to prepare the boxes.

Scott Valley Focus, Inc. was founded in 2000 by dedicated women with a deep concern for family welfare and the community. For many years the organization worked together with the Scott Valley Resource Center.

Their present “Focus” includes affordable housing and critical transportation. A comprehensive survey is being conducted to a large segment of Scott Valley citizens to provide validity of the needs of the community for potential grant funding. Scott Valley Focus has recently elected a new board of directors. Board members include: Pamela Merchant, Lisa Campbell, Cliff Lantz, Marilyn Seward, Lisa Theofanitis and Cindy Menne.

Scott Valley Focus will also be providing Christmas food baskets. Anyone wishing to make a financial donation for any Focus project may send a check to Scott Valley Focus, Inc., PO BOX 252 ETNA CA 96027.
