#CurlyFire Forward Progress Stopped in Happy Camp, CA

As of August 17 at 2:33AM:

The Evacuation Warning has been lifted for Zone SIS-1218 for the #CurlyFire.


 

At 12:27am Happy Camp Fire Department, Klamath Nation Forest Engines, and Local volunteer fire companies responded to a 1 1/2 acre fire on Curly Jack Road. It had a moderate rate of spread with structures threatened. While the fire was being attacked the Sheriff's Deputy was knocking on doors warning residents to the danger from the fire.


A very fast response was able to get the fire under control and forward progress was stopped within half an hour. Hand lines and a hose lay around the fire put this fire to bed.


Great work was performed to protect the residents on Curly Jack Road.


 

**EVACUATION WARNING**

This is for the #CurlyFire which is on Curly Jack Road in the Happy Camp area.

An Evacuation WARNING has been issued for Zone SIS-1218 which includes the following areas:

NORTH OF Forest Route 15n12 SOUTH OF California Highway 96 EAST OF California Highway 96 WEST OF Forest Route 45n85, Elk Creek Road


**Residents must be prepared to leave immediately should an Evacuation Order be is issued. Those with livestock or who need more time to evacuate should leave now.
