#EugeneStructureFire History Destroyed: Old Mt. Shasta Hospital Fire

At approximately 10 A.M. January 6th, 2024, Yreka Interagency Command Center received multiple reports of a fully involved structure fire in Mount Shasta off the corner of Eugene and S. A Street at the old Mt. Shasta Hospital.

Mt. Shasta Fire arrived on scene of a two story commercial building fire fully involved. Crews continue to extinguish the fire from a defensive stance due to the interior being unsafe and making it unsafe for fire personnel to make access. Two firefighters were injured and transported to the nearest hospital for evaluation.

The fire cause remains under investigation. Extended full containment unknown due to still active fire fight. Fire agencies responded from Mount Shasta Fire Department, CAL FIRE Siskiyou Unit, Dunsmuir Fire Department, Castella Fire Protection District, and Mt Shasta Police Department.
