Siskiyou Food Assistance (SFA) is once again hosting their Thanksgiving Day tradition, โ€œRun for Foodโ€ at the Weed campus of College of the Siskiyous on November 23rd at 8 am. The event supports SFAโ€™s mission as a local food ministry offering nutritious food and prayer to friends and neighbors in need of emergency food. โ€œThe 5K eventis fun for the whole family, with award ribbons given to the top three finishers in each age & gender category,โ€ writes Anna Volf, Race Sponsorship Coordinator and SFA Board member.

โ€œThe combination of exercise, refreshments, fun music, community togetherness and the opportunity to help others all make for a meaningful start to a grateful day.โ€

Registration is now open and can be submitted online with a link found on the Facebook event page @SiskiyouFoodAssistance. The event page gives all the details for registration, t-shirt purchase, race packet pick-up information and prizes.

“We want to be a part of your Thanksgiving!” says Denise Spayd, Executive Director of SFA. “We invite you and your family and friends to start your day of gratitude with a brisk run or walk through the COS Football Field and Bear Trail – you’ll feel better about all the pie you eat later.”

Opportunities for sponsorships, participation and to volunteer can all be found by visiting www.SiskiyouFoodAssistance , or contacting staff at 530-408-6115.
