YREKA โ€” The Karuk Tribe’s Kahtรญshraam Wellness Center is hiring two leaders for its Summer Enrichment Program, which serves rotating groups of youth entering first through eighth grade. The Housing Authority is looking for energetic, creative and dependable people to fill two distinct roles for the full program run. Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026.

The Two Roles

Youth Enrichment Program Leader. This leader plans and independently runs hands-on learning sessions โ€” arts and crafts, reading and writing games, math and science experiments, gardening and plant-based projects โ€” managing classroom or outdoor space to keep every child curious and involved.

Lead Games, Movement & Recreation Contractor. This leader keeps kids active with high-energy activities rather than strict fitness drills โ€” sports, dance, cooperative games and obstacle courses. Working with youth helpers, the contractor runs two activities in the gym at once so students always have options.

Schedule and Pay

The program runs Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., from July 6 through July 30, 2026. Each position pays $200 per day across the 20 program days, totaling $4,000, issued at the end of the program once all required final paperwork is turned in.

Shared Responsibilities

Both leaders gather and prepare their own materials or equipment before each session and keep the activity area safe, clean and respectful. They are expected to arrive on time, work collaboratively with staff, track daily attendance and actively encourage youth to take part.

How to Apply

Applicants should state which position they are seeking and submit a detailed resume or statement of qualifications showing experience with youth programs or fitness instruction; a brief description of the activities they want to teach; specific examples of past experience leading educational or community activities; three professional or community references with phone numbers; and a statement confirming availability from July 6 through July 30, 2026.

Responses must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026. Submit to:
