The Yreka Library will host a special community event on Friday, April 17th at 2:00 p.m. featuring a preview screening of excerpts from The American Revolution, a new PBS documentary film by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt.
Southern Oregon PBS CEO Phil Meyer will also be on hand to deliver a station update.
The film chronicles how thirteen American colonies united in rebellion, fought an eight-year war for independence, and established a form of government that would inspire democratic movements at home and around the world. What begins as a political clash between colonists and the British Crown grows into a bloody struggle involving more than two dozen nations — and one that would forever change the course of history.
The event is free and open to the public. The Yreka Library is located at 719 Fourth Street, Yreka.
