On March 13, 2026, at approximately 0337 hours, Yreka Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call regarding a vehicle crashing into a tree on Oberlin Road, east of Phillipe Lane. An 18-year-old female of Etna, CA, was driving a blue 2009 Honda CRV, eastbound on Oberlin Road, east of Phillipe Lane, when the vehicle left the north side of the roadway and struck a tree, causing fatal injuries to the driver.
A 16-year-old female passenger in the vehicle received minor/moderate injuries in the crash and was transported to Fairchild Medical Center.
