YREKA – The 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors meeting Tuesday August 26th was highlighted by the selection of the June 24-28, 2026, fair theme. The winning entry was submitted by Cooper Greene of Weed. “June Nights Under Stars & Stripes” will celebrate the 167th year since the first fair was held in Siskiyou County, the first fair in June, and the 250th birthday of the United States of America! “June Night Under Stars & Stripes” will be used for advertising, exhibits, awards and the paint fair contest.
“The community wanted the fair moved to June moving forward and the Board of Directors voted to make that happen.”
“It is another special year for the fairground”, stated CEO Cliff Munson, “the fair is 167 years young and has made many changes over the years.”
The 2026 Fair Theme contest ran during the 2025 fair to accommodate the need to expedite fair preparation for 2026 and the “Paint the Fair” contest is now underway. Anyone wanting to create and enter artwork for 2026 is encouraged to email – [email protected] or snail mail – Siskiyou Golden Fair Theme Contest 1712 Fairlane Road, Yreka CA 96097 to let us know.
The artwork will be due in the fair office by 5:00 pm on Friday November 7th, 2025.
Congratulations again to Cooper Greene from Weed, Cooper will be receiving a ticket package for the 2026 fair that includes admission and grandstand tickets.
