USFS Responds to Whistleblower Report on Tree-Marking Paint Dumping Near Pondosa

MOUNT SHASTA, Calif. — The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) Shasta-Trinity National Forest has acknowledged concerns raised by a local forester regarding the disposal of residual tree-marking paint on National Forest System lands near Pondosa, east of McCloud.

In a statement provided to Siskiyou News, District Ranger Joseph Rodarme confirmed that upon notification of the issue, the Forest immediately coordinated with Siskiyou County Environmental Health to evaluate the situation, halt any improper practices, and determine corrective actions.
