McCLOUD, CA (December 26, 2025) – A coordinated multi-county rescue operation successfully extracted four stranded individuals from Davis Road north of McCloud late Christmas night, after heavy snowfall and near white-out conditions rendered the area impassable for regular law enforcement vehicles.
The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office received separate reports of two stranded vehicles at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 25th. Responding deputies quickly determined that deteriorating weather conditions required specialized equipment, prompting activation of the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue (SAR) team.
Initial response efforts encountered mechanical difficulties with Siskiyou SAR’s SnoCat, creating a potential delay in reaching the stranded motorists. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (Oregon) and Klamath County Sheriff’s Office immediately deployed their SAR teams and equipment to assist.
