SISKIYOU DISTRIBUTING SELECTED FOR 100th ANNIVERSARY BLUE RIBBON AWARD

YREKA โ€“ The Blue Ribbon Award was created by the Western Fairs Association, the premier organization dedicated to supporting and promoting the fair industry in the Western United States and Canada, to honor those that go above and beyond to support their annual fair.ย  The 10th District Agricultural Association Board of Directors, as member of the Western Fairs Association, is excited to announce that for 2025, they have selected Siskiyou Distributing, Mark and Kris Zigler and their boys Cale, Daryn and Damon for this prestigious award.ย  โ€œOur community gives tremendous support to our fair and youth and it is a pleasure to select a business or individual each year for this award,โ€ stated CEO, Cliff Munson. โ€œMark and Kris have invested in our community and share their success with many organizations to make them sustainable and the Siskiyou Golden Fair benefits from their graciousness.โ€ Mark was born in Mt. Shasta and was involved in the family business, Mt. Shasta Ice, from his childhood. Mark related that he is sure he was the only 12-year-old to miss baseball Allstars because of an injury sustained while moving ice. He remembers vividly strolling the fairgrounds annually with a small wagon selling ice every hour to the vendors at the annual fair. Since that time Mark purchased Siskiyou Dairy Plus, met and married Kris, became a great dad to Cale, Daryn and Damon and with Kris purchased Golden Rush Coffee and Siskiyou Distributing. Kris supports the high school drama program and keeps the ice cream truck going on the streets of Yreka, a favorite during the summer! Mark is active on the Yreka High School Board, American Legion Baseball and spent time with Little League and Yreka youth football. Their family is truly an institution in our community.

2025 is a special anniversary year at the Siskiyou Golden Fairground, 100 years since the property was purchased by local ranchers and businesses and donated to the community for the annual fair. The Zigler Family and their businesses have been a part of it all for half of that time and deserve recognition for a job well done! The award will be presented at the flag pole on opening night August 6th at 5:00 pm. Plan on joining the Zigler Family as we celebrate โ€œ100 Years Past, Always a Blastโ€!
