Assessment Appeals Board: four scheduled vacancies

Laura Bynum, Clerk of the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors announces that there are four scheduled vacancies, for one Member position and three Alternate member positions, on the Assessment Appeals Board, with terms ending September 1, 2025 (2 Alternates), September 7, 2026 (1 Alternate) and September 6, 2027 (1 Member).

Members of the Assessment Appeals Board must have a minimum of five years professional experience in California as a Certified Public Accountant or Public Accountant, Licensed real estate broker, attorney, property appraiser accredited by a nationally recognized professional organization or a person who is possessed of competent knowledge of property appraisal and taxation. Proof of qualifications is required with application and members of the Assessment Appeals Board must file a Conflict of Interest Form (Form 700) when assuming office and annually. Once appointed, members must attend mandatory training provided by the State Board of Equalization.

Members of the Assessment Appeals Board receive a stipend and mileage reimbursement for attending meetings, and it is anticipated that members will meet approximately two times each year.
