On Easter Sunday around 11:15am, a Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) Deputy made a routine traffic stop on Interstate 5, north of Yreka. The driver was identified as Angel Bahena Moreno, 21, and passenger, Daniela Valdez Ponce, 21, both from Santa Rosa, California. The deputy’s investigation during the traffic stop uncovered 9.1 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in an ice chest type cooler.
Moreno and Ponce were arrested and booked in the Siskiyou County Jail for the transportation and possession of a controlled substance for sale.
