The much beloved Montague Balloon Fair soars this weekend in Shasta Valley. It is a “don’t miss” Siskiyou County event – but, you have to get up early to watch the hot air balloons take off.
“We have 12 Hot Air Balloons coming this year,” Montague Rotary President Joan Smith Freeman told Yreka News. “It will be a very nice event.”
The location of the balloon fair had to change at the last minute to the small Montague Airport, because the traditional spot was being used for a fire camp this year, according to Freeman.
A “Night Glow” where hot air balloons are spectacularly illuminated will be held on Friday night.
A car show will be held on Saturday morning, with Jimmy Limo and a dinner and rock and roll dance with River Rock Band is set for Saturday evening.
The Yreka Elks will be making breakfast every morning.
