St. Paddy’s Pub Crawl in McCloud

The McCloud’s St. Paddy’s Day Pub Crawl on March 18th was a huge success bringing many people together for a night of fun out on the town.

The participating businesses included the American Legion Post 92, Axe & Rose Public House, McCloud Meat Market, McCloud River B & B, Siskiyou Brew Works, Sojourn Coffee, White Mountain Cafe, Peregrine Shoppe, and the Swuaw Valley Riding Club.

Every place had different drink or food specials, but with one thing in common;
they all had an Irish flair. ☘️

The Meat Market had a local band. Specials like Irish nachos, green Martinis, Misty Mints, Irish cola, and corn beef and hash were the favorites on their menu.

They had seating for large groups of people roaming from pub to pub.
While others like Amy Garrett, Kim Voorhees, and Shari Rouiller, came for a small get-together and a belated birthday celebration “and to get to know the town better,” says Garrett.

The White Mountain Cafe sold mimosas by the bottle.

At the McCloud River Inn, even McCloud’s Chamber President Quentin Zahara was dressed for the occasion in a green kilt and was enjoying the smoked tri-tip special while visiting with others like Jennifer and Mona Burnello.

Many people come up from Redding each year for this event. Tara and Jim Knight say that they have been coming up every year for this event before the pandemic.

The American Legion Post 92 had the popular Blackwell Brothers Band playing throughout the evening
They hosted a corned beef & cabbage dinner earlier in the evening
and had fun green desserts for nibbling.
John Slater and Carly Devlin visiting from Oakland

Some, like John Slater and Carly Devlin visiting from Oakland, say that even though they love a good pub crawl, they settled for a pizza and soft drinks at Siskiyou Brew Works claiming that it is the best pizza they have found in Siskiyou County.

The Squaw Valley Riding Club

The Squaw Valley Riding Club served “drinks and dogs,” according to Diane Tolosano.

“We didn’t want people to drink and not have something in their stomachs. So we had hotdogs out for those who wanted them.”

“All in all, every place (pub) in McCloud was a great  St. Paddy’s Party Place,” according to Leslie Gaeddert who also comes up from Redding with her friends each year for this event. “We always have so much fun bumping into the same people at different pubs.”
