YREKA – The Siskiyou Golden Jackpot, started in 2009 around the Nicoletti’s kitchen table, is pleased to announce that Tanner Barnes from West Terre Haute Indiana will be the official judge at the 15th annual jackpot show.  The jackpot show, continuously held on Mother’s Day weekend since the inception, has a long tradition of using past judging team members from the Texas Tech Red Raider Livestock Judging Team starting with Dr. Ryan Rathmann. Mother’s Day weekend will be May 12-14 in 2023 and entries will be online in early April.

Tanner Barnes is currently the herdsman for Cole Creek Land & Cattle in West Terre Haute, Indiana and actively judges in the mid-west. “The exhibitors at the Siskiyou Golden will be judged by one of the best,” stated CEO, Cliff Munson, “The quality of judges that have come from Texas Tech have been top notch and Tanner will continue that tradition.”

The weekend activities will kick off Friday, May 12th with the Mechanics Bank fitting contest, where exhibitors will wash and fit an animal.
