College of the Siskiyous Welcomes New Vice President of Administrative Services

Weed / COS – College of the Siskiyous is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave Vigo, new Vice President of Administrative Services who began his duties on January 3, 2023.  Dave replaces Darlene Melby, former Vice President of Administrative Services who left the college last summer.

Dave Vigo began his work history in the California Community College system in 2008 at San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) where he worked as one of the payroll staff members for the District office. After almost two (2) years with the SMCCCD, he moved on to Cañada College and became a Financial Analyst under the supervision of the College Business Officer (CBO).  From 2014 to 2022, he held a variety of positions, both in and out of the CCC system.  Dave has experience as a Fiscal Operations Specialist (Contra Costa Community College), Financial Operations Analyst (Oakland Unified School District), Business Services Supervisor (Los Medanos College), Chief Financial Officer (Griffin Technology Academies), and most recently was the Senior Director of Budget and Accounting and Interim Senior Director of Administrative Services at City College of San Francisco.  He has a Master’s degree in Educational Business Administration from the American College of Education; a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy (Columbian College, Philippines); and also holds a Certificate in Data Analytics (General Assembly, CA).

While at City College of San Francisco serving as the Interim Senior Director for Administrative Services under the direction of the Vice Chancellor of Finance and Administration, Dave supervised the District’s purchasing functions including purchasing contracts, fixed assets inventory, self-insurance programs, printing center, use of District’s facilities, negotiation of Instructional Services Agreement (ISA) and contract leases.  Prior to his Interim Senior Director for Administrative Services role, he served as Senior Director for Budget and Accounting, where his job was to plan, organize, control, and direct the budget and accounting functions of the district including administration of all aspects of the district’s budget from planning and development to implementation and enforcement.  During his many years in the community college system, Dave has managed bond programs, grants, and more.

Dave is excited to join the administration at College of the Siskiyous and looks forward to working with the community to see our students succeed in their educational goals.
