At approximately 11:00 A.M., a woman called to report her catalytic converter had been removed from her car. Shortly after the report officers contacted Matthew Hobbs who was walking down the street carrying a catalytic converter. It was determined to NOT be the catalytic converter reported stolen; however, Mr. Hobbs was arrested for 2 warrants. The case involving possession of the catalytic converter is still under investigation.

Officers responded to a report that a man and woman were seen walking by a home and the woman was seen taking a package off the porch of the house. A male and female were contacted at Speedway Express, who matched the descriptions of the porch pirate suspects. The male agreed to assist officers in locating the stashed items, and the female went to jail. Elizabeth Morales was arrested for loitering to commit a crime.

All of this by lunch…. Whew.

Please remember to keep your property secure. UPS, USPS, and FedEx offer package delivery options to assist in reduction of package theft. As for catalytic converter theft, it is still happening and will most likely continue to happen due to precious metal recycling prices. We have posted before offering some security options. One of the best security options is to have motion lights, security system and /or cameras.
