36 young anglers under the age of 15 fished it out for prizes and bragging rights at the seventh annual Juanita lake Youth Fishing Derby. This annual event is sponsored by the Butte Valley Camber of Commerce, Butte Valley Volunteer Fire Department, Dorris Volunteer Fire Department, with help from the KNF Goosenest Ranger District and California Fish and Wildlife.
Low and behold at the closing of the derby a 4-way tie was declared.
4 anglers all landed a fish 12 1/2 inches long
weighing 1/2 pound.. I think something fishy is going on.
It truly was a very nice time and fun was had by all. I am glad I took the drive to see a lake that I have always enjoyed to visit. The full campground was a clue that I am not the only one that likes this place.
