Gather ’round, for the docket filled up again this week and most of it preached the same plain sermon: when the judge says be there, be there. Brother Gardner came to town hauling a warrant for nearly every year since 2018, a stack so tall owing to the simple sin of not showing up — proof that in this county the surest road to a cell is dodging the calendar. Brother Roberts, bless his heart, managed to get himself booked twice between one sunrise and the next, once before the rooster crowed and once after supper, a man plainly determined to wring every hour out of his day.
Out by Big Springs the deputies came upon three travelers — two from the far boroughs of New York, one from the Sacramento flatlands — tending gardens the good book of Health and Safety does not smile upon. That is a long way to drive to grow the wrong crop. One soul stands accused of trespassing to lay low a standing tree, which in timber country is about the most local offense a man can manage, and another of fashioning a leaded cane, a weapon so old-fashioned it ought to come with a pocket watch.

BEALS, BLAKE B. 23, of Yreka, was booked June 13 by Yreka Police on misdemeanor counts of possessing drug paraphernalia and failing to appear after a written promise. He was arrested at the Truck Stop, with $5,000 bail set on the failure-to-appear count. Court date July 21. Released the same day.
BENNETT, CAMERON N. 33, of Antelope, was booked June 14 by CHP–Mount Shasta on two misdemeanor DUI counts following a stop on US-97 at Lincoln. Court date Aug. 11. Released the same day.
CHRISTENSEN, CLAYTON L. 31, of Yreka, was booked June 14 by Yreka Police on a misdemeanor count of domestic battery. He was arrested on Puufich Court, with $5,000 bail. Court date June 17.
DELEON, DAVID H. 75, of Montague, was booked June 12 by CHP–Yreka on a misdemeanor DUI after a stop at 9th Avenue and Spiers Street. Court date Aug. 18. Released the next day.
DULAI, GURPREET K. 42, of Elk Grove, was booked June 14 by CHP–Mount Shasta on a misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct involving alcohol. She was arrested at Highway 97 and Lincoln. Court date July 21. Released the same day.
ELLIS, PATTI A. 55, of Weed, was booked June 14 by the Sheriff’s Office on a Shasta County felony warrant for failure to appear. Bail was set at $25,000. Released the same day.
FENNELL, STEVEN W. 41, of McCloud, was booked June 9 by Yreka Police on a misdemeanor assault count after an arrest on Interstate 5 at Miner Street. Court date July 21. Released the same day.
FLUD, THEODORE A. 36, of Yreka, was booked June 9 by state parole on a felony parole violation and held without bail. He was arrested on South Foothill Drive. Court date June 19.
GARDNER, TROY S. 41, of Yreka, was booked June 11 by Yreka Police on a stack of failure-to-appear warrants — multiple counts under both the Penal and Vehicle codes — tied to cases reaching back to 2018. LIU, CHAQUN 52, of Brooklyn, New York, was booked June 12 by the Sheriff’s Office on misdemeanor marijuana counts — cultivating six or more plants, possession for sale, and renting space for storage. She was arrested at a property near Big Springs. Court date July 10. Released the same day.
LOVELACE, NICOLE B. 41, of Yreka, was booked June 10 by Yreka Police on a string of no-bail bench warrants and failure-to-appear counts after an arrest on South Main. Court date June 12. Released two days later.
MCDANIEL, NANCY 34, of Grants Pass, Oregon, was booked June 10 by CHP–Yreka on misdemeanor counts of carrying a concealed weapon and resisting an officer following a stop on Interstate 5 near Abrams Lake. Court date July 21. Released the same day.
MCDONALD, LEILANI M. 26, of Yreka, was booked June 13 by Yreka Police on multiple no-bail bench warrants and a failure-to-appear count. She was arrested at the 76 station. Court date June 17.
MCKINNEY, JEREMY D. 48, of Yreka, was booked June 8 by the Sheriff’s Office as an en-route transport from Valley State Prison on a 2020 case. Court date June 16.
MILLER, SAMUEL B. 31, of Yreka, was booked June 11 by Yreka Police on a misdemeanor count of possessing an inhalant substance and a misdemeanor drug-DUI count. He was arrested at the Comfort Inn. Court date July 21. Released the same day.
MORRISON, MICHAEL W. 62, of Callahan, was booked June 13 by the Sheriff’s Office on a felony warrant for possession of obscene matter depicting a minor. He was arrested in Etna, with $20,000 bail. Court date June 15. Released the same day.
NELSON, ROBERT R. 55, of Yreka, was booked June 11 by Yreka Police on felony counts of criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon, along with misdemeanor assault and failure-to-appear counts. Court date June 15.
OCONNELL, THOMAS E. 57, of Mt. Shasta, was booked June 14 by the Sheriff’s Office on a felony warrant for criminal threats and assault with a deadly weapon after an arrest in Mt. Shasta. Bail was set at $25,000. Court date June 17.
PITTS, MELISSA L. 41, of Redding, was booked June 10 by CHP–Yreka on a felony count of possessing metal knuckles and a misdemeanor paraphernalia count following a stop on southbound Interstate 5. She was released to serve a 120-day term. Court date June 12.
REED, KEENAN W. 42, of Yreka, was booked June 12 by Yreka Police on felony counts of resisting an officer and vandalism, plus a failure-to-appear count. He was arrested on South Main, with $20,000 bail. Court date June 15.
REYNOLDS, KARRIN M. 62, of Gazelle, was booked June 10 by Weed Police on a misdemeanor DUI after an arrest on Main Street. Bail was set at $5,000. Court date Aug. 11. Released the same day.

ROBERTS, JUSTIN D. 47, of Greenview, was booked twice on June 13 by Yreka Police — first at 3:30 a.m. at the T-Mobile store on a paraphernalia count, then again that evening at O’Reilly’s on counts of paraphernalia and obstructing a business. ROBLES, IAN M. 38, of Lodi, was booked June 8 by the Sheriff’s Office on felony warrants for possessing a controlled substance with priors and for vandalism. He was arrested at the jail sallyport. Court date June 23.
SIMS, MICAH J. 43, of Yreka, was booked June 9 by Yreka Police on a felony bench warrant plus misdemeanor counts including paraphernalia and trespass to destroy standing timber. He was arrested at the Speedway. Court date July 22. Released the next day.
TEDFORD, DOUGLAS G. 60, of Yreka, was booked June 11 by Yreka Police on two felony bench warrants — one from county probation, one from the District Attorney. He was arrested at Wendy’s. Court date July 22. Released the same day.
THAO, MAYLEE D. 43, of Weed, was booked June 9 by Weed Police on a felony child-endangerment count and two misdemeanor DUI counts. She was arrested in the 300 block of Alamo Avenue, with $25,000 bail. Court date June 11. Released the same day.
WATERS, MAURICE W. 48, of Ben Lomond, was booked June 10 by CHP–Mount Shasta on a series of felony repeat-DUI counts and related driving and probation charges, with bail set at $100,000. WATSON, WILLIAM S. 51, of Yreka, was booked June 11 by CHP–Yreka on felony bench warrants, a felony count of manufacturing a leaded cane, drug and paraphernalia counts, and a post-release supervision violation. He was arrested at the Grocery Outlet lot. Court date June 15.
WATTS, TYRIQUE 27, of Yreka, was booked June 11 by Yreka Police on felony counts of inflicting corporal injury on a partner and false imprisonment. He was arrested at South Oregon and Yama, with $50,000 bail. Court date June 15.
WILLIAMS, DANIEL R. 68, of Seiad Valley, was booked June 13 by the Sheriff’s Office on misdemeanor counts of possessing paraphernalia and prohibited possession of ammunition. He was arrested at a Seiad Creek Road property. Court date July 21. Released the same day.
WILLIAMS, STEVE B. 70, of Seiad Valley, was booked June 13 by the Sheriff’s Office on a felony count of possessing a narcotic for sale plus misdemeanor drug, ammunition, and paraphernalia counts.
