At the 11th Annual Kid’s Day Festival, more than 2,300 people took advantage of a perfect sunny spring day to enjoy games, food, activities, entertainment, and free prizes from over 40 community organizations that sponsored and offered their services to families throughout the day. The number of prizes given away served as an estimate of the number of children who attended.
Along with the many booths offering games, prizes, and information about community services, there was also a magic show, live music, and a free pancake breakfast, with hotdogs and snacks available throughout the festivities. To top it all off, scholarships of up to $1,500 per child were available through Cal Kids for families who signed up.
The event took place last Saturday at Bel Air Park in Weed, hosted by the Siskiyou Community Resource Collaborative.

A highlight of the festival was the Earth Drum Circle, whose members played together on a large handmade drum that captivated children and adults alike.
