Siskiyou County, Calif. – On March 5, 2026, at approximately 8:00 p.m., CHP officers responded to a crash on Ager Road at Racoon Drive. A 60-year-old male from Hornbrook was driving a red 2017 Kia Sorento northbound on Ager Road at Racoon Drive. For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control of the Kia, and the Kia collided with a metal guardrail. After the initial impact, the Kia continued off the roadway onto the west shoulder where the Kia rolled down an embankment and came to rest. As a result of the crash, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical personnel.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are factors in this crash. Information regarding the deceased victim is available through the Siskiyou County Sheriff-Coroner’s Office.
