Richard Ona Kegg was born on June 17, 1938, to Ona Vivian Kegg and Mildred Grace Mort. As a fourth-generation member of the Kegg family in Little Shasta Valley, Richard’s deep ties to his community were both lasting and meaningful. He cherished his family’s heritage and took pride in their legacy.
On November 2, 1963, Richard married Iva (Louise) Kegg, beginning a loving marriage that lasted over sixty years. Together, they built a devoted partnership and raised a family grounded in love and respect. Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Elaine (Kegg) Miller, and his brother, Fred Kegg.
Richard spent over fifty years working as a truck driver, demonstrating unwavering dedication and a strong work ethic throughout his career. Retiring in 2013, he was highly respected in his field. Colleagues and friends recognized him for his warmth, integrity, and the positive influence he had on those around him. As a lifelong Jehovah’s Witness, Richard also held Little Shasta Valley close to his heart.
