McCloud Celebrates Veterans Day

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, when the guns fell silent, we will always remember Veterans Day. To celebrate this honorable day when flags are half-mast, McCloud held a parade that rambled through every street of the town, all which are lined with the American flags in honoring this special day. Led by the McCloud Fire department, the parade consisted of mostlyย veterans, a few antique cars, The McCloud Neighborhood Watch, the American Legion Riders, and the California Highwayย Patrol. The parade started and finished at the American Legion Post 92 where the Auxiliary members hosted a free luncheon for all.

About 60 people attended the free luncheon. The Auxiliary women made 14 different crockpot dishes and fresh bread for everyone to try.

Geeia Wildman of Sweet Mountain Treats, made patriotic colored cupcakes which resembled the American Flag.
