Weed Cougars Football: With 2 minutes left in the first quarter the Cougars are tied with Oroville 14-14โฆ Jett Marshall with a 70 yard kickoff return for a touchdown and a 60+ yard rushing touchdown to lead the Cougars. Cougars fought hard but fall to Oroville 34-22. The Cougars will travel to Etna next Friday for their SCL opener.

Monday was Jungle Day, and we have a volleyball tournament pep rally for students and staff.
Tuesday is Emo versus Nerd Day, and our Volleyball team will take on Hayfork at 5:30 PM.
Wednesday is Adam Sandler Day
and we will be having a flag football game on the Babe Ruth Field at 6 PM
Thursday is Dress Like A Teacher/Dress Like A Student Day.
We will have our Homecoming Pep Rally, and the Lady Tigers will take on Butte Valley at 5:30 PM.
The crowning of Homecoming Queen and King will also take place at this game.
Friday is Orange and Black Day. Our Homecoming Parade will begin at 2pm.

Bears win big over Etna Lions in a home game victory!

This week, the MSHS Varsity Lady Bears faced off against two very tough teamsโModoc and Etna. The Lady Bears rose to the challenge, showing grit and determination, and came out on top in both matches, winning each in four sets.
Player Highlights
Savannah Henson โ A dominant force at the net with 16 kills, 19 blocks, and 9 digs.
Madelyn Harrison โ Balanced offense and defense with 14 kills and 13 digs.
Kaley Lanier (Libero) โ Our back-row anchor with an incredible 93 digs, 44 serve receives, 3 assists, and even 1 kill.
Leighton Morley โ Stepped up with 34 digs, 9 serve receives, and 5 serve points.
Amirra Funk (Setter) โ Orchestrated the offense with 54 assists, 41 digs, and 9 kills.
The week was filled with never-give-up rallies, strong defensive stands, and relentless energy from every player. The Lady Bears proved their toughness and teamwork against two of their most challenging opponents so far this season.

MSHS Girls Swim Team took first overall in their swim meet on Wednesday (9/24) against West Valley and Lassen. They finished 20 points ahead of the Lassen girlsโ team who were 2nd.

1st in the 200 Free Relay (out swimming West Valley Boys in a combined heat)
1st in the 400 Free Relay (lost to WV boys by a fraction of a second, in a combined heat)
