SisQ Bee Club
The SisQ Bee Club has committed to its largest project to date, a Pollinator Garden, to be located on the grounds of the Siskiyou Golden Fair. The fair has generously offered a beautiful location for this project where thousands of visitors can enjoy it for years to come. The garden will showcase pollinator-loving plants, multiple types of bees, butterflies, birds, and beetles who are quietly and consistently responsible for one in every three mouthfuls of food we consume. Most people donโt realize that the health and presence of pollinators are requirements for our food survival!
This county-wide educational showpiece, a fenced 40โ x 60โ plot between the armory and the floral building will provide refuge, food, and housing for pollinators. It will be built with learning opportunities in mind for the community, schools, and new beekeepers in mind. Formal plans have been drawn up, clearing has been completed and sponsorships and donations are being sought. Are you interested in being part of the pollinator movement at the fairgrounds? There are several ways to help!
