Mount Shasta, CA- On May 30, 2025, the Mt. Shasta Police Department, along with the Sacramento Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force and local county ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Investigators, executed a search warrant at a residence in Mount Shasta. Sixty-eight-year-old Colin Rick Nelson was found in possession of child pornography and was subsequently arrested without incident.
Nelson is a registered sex offender stemming from prior convictions for child sex crimes.
During an interview following his arrest, information was obtained indicating Nelson may have had more than 300 victims dating back 30 to 40 years.
The Mt. Shasta Police Department would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Sacramento Hi-Tech Crimes Task Force for their assistance in this case and for their continued support in combating crimes against children. Their resources and expertise remain invaluable to our operations.
