Tuesday, March 26th 2024 was a long and contentious day down at the Siskiyou County Board of Supervisors meeting. It’s a day that saw the Board of Supervisors standing for the best interests of its constituents.
The online Zoom callers also lined-up to testify both against passing the Draft Resolution, and in favor of the Resolution.
Additionally, the room was packed with Siskiyou County citizens as well as representatives from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mark Bransom the CEO of the Klamath River Renewal Corporation (‘KRRC’), and numerous County staff, including, Rick Dean the Director of the Community Development Department, James Smith the Agricultural Commissioner, Elizabeth Nielsen the Deputy County Administrator, Bryan Schenone – Director of OES, and Natalie Reed, County Counsel.
Emotional testimony from was heard from residents who have suffered insult to injury at the hands of Klamath River Renewal Corporation’s (‘KRRC’) dam removal project via KRRC’s apparent lack of consideration, collaboration and transparency, according to testimony from the citizens living on and around the now drained, sediment filled lakes and the Klamath River.
Of interest was testimony offered by Siskiyou County’s Agricultural Commissioner, James Smith, who indicated that the aerial and hand seeding of the remaining sediment banks would probably not stabilize the sediments or mitigate the dust from those sediments, which are considered as hazardous to human health.
In the end, the vote was 4 in favor and 1 against, and the crowd in chambers let out a cheer!
The Resolution proclaiming a local emergency was passed requesting that the Governor proclaim a State of Emergency for impacts resulting from Lower Klamath Dam removal.

If Newsom turns his back on this, it will tell you what side he is on. It’s time to get rid of him when up for election or keep him in office so he can finish the job of destroying California. I, for one have had enough of this clown.
We know what side Newsom is on. He is for illegal immigrants and anyone that puts money in his pocket, not the people of California…
I am curious . . . What is an ethologist?
