Weed / COS –On November 28, our community will come together for North State Giving Tuesday, an online giving event where you can donate to the COS Foundation and our Siskiyou Promise program to support students attending College of the Siskiyous. For 14 hours, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., you can “give where you live” online at www.northstategives.org. North State Giving Tuesday is a regional effort hosted by Shasta Regional Community Foundation for the benefit of over 191 local participating nonprofit organizations and public agencies. Using the www.northstategives.org website, donors can choose to give toward as many of their favorite nonprofits as they desire with a minimum $10 donation. Participating organizations are searchable by name and field of interest.
“This online event is very important to our Siskiyou Promise Program and our students,”
Dawnie Slabaugh, Director of Public Relations and College Foundation.
“To put it into perspective… if eleven people were to donate $100 each on Giving Tuesday, one student’s tuition for one year or two semesters would be paid for. We need every donation and every dollar we can get to help support this program.” All gifts are 100% tax deductible, as allowed by law, and will be receipted for tax purposes by the Community Foundation of the North State.
