Scott River and Shasta River Watersheds Emergency Regulation: October 30, 2023 Listening Sessions in Montague, CA

On October 30, 2023, State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) staff will host two identical in-person listening sessions, at the Montague Community Center in Montague, CA, on the regulation of flows in the Scott River and Shasta River watersheds.

The listening sessions’ purpose is to solicit comments to inform ongoing and future efforts the State Water Board may take regarding regulation of flows in the Scott River and Shasta River watersheds. Please see the listening sessions notice for details on how to participate.

Prior to the commencement of the listening sessions, staff from several governmental and nongovernmental entities have been invited to provide brief overviews of funding opportunities available to the community related to supporting instream flows. Representatives from these entities will also be available during the listening sessions to answer funding questions about individual projects that attendees may be interested in pursuing.

Additional information on the State Water Board’s previous emergency regulation efforts in the Scott River and Shasta River watersheds is available online at the Scott River and Shasta River Watersheds Drought Response website.
