The permit you recently issued for Jim Morris Farms to divert water from the Scott River to groundwater is not in the public interest because, as shown in a previous demonstration project, it will only raise Scott River flows in early summer when flows are almost always adequate. Because this benefits only a private individual (by raising the water table and reducing his water extraction costs) this is an improper use of our tax dollars.
These funds should be used only for real instream habitat benefits. Shame on you folks for this corruption of the system.
