During the Modoc Indian War (1872-1873), Yreka was the closest town. Consequently, most people that worked behind the scenes (packers, guides, contractors, etc.) were Yrekans and many are buried at Evergreen. Come to this tour to learn more about the war and Yreka’s connections to it. Meet in the center of Evergreen Cemetery, at the west end of Evergreen Ln., Yreka.
