While getting the chance to meet with many of you at The Vault, we have noticed there are an abundance of youngsters who see the seeds and seem very interested and excited about planting! So, in response to that, we are very excited to share with you an event we have planned for these young gardeners!

We are calling it “Host a Butterfly”

On Saturday May 3rd, between 10a and 11am. This evening is ** weather permitting and while supplies last **.

We will have a table set up next to The Seed Vault for your young gardener to come plant a seed of a butterfly host plant and take it home with them!

We will have pictures printed out of what each flower looks like and the corresponding butterflies they host. This way, they can visualize everything, and for those who are still learning to communicate, can point to what they like 🙂

No need to bring anything except yourselves! We will have supplies ready for you. We will have seeds (of course lol), potting soil, tiny biodegradable planting pots, kids gloves (sizes ranging from toddlers to about 7yo), trowels, a few tiny watering cans made for little ones to use.

One of the best parts of this? Not only will you and your kiddo literally be hosting butterflies, but your kiddo will get to take home their plant, trowel and gloves, as a “thank you” for participating!

**Please understand that this is “while supplies last and/or if the gloves we have fit”. We have varying glove sizes and our hope is to accommodate all who attend**

This event is made possible because of the generosity of the businesses who donated towards it! Huge THANK YOU to:

– Roush Hardware in Westerville for donating the potting soil, kids gloves, and biodegradable pots! Your store has been very generous. Thank you so much!

– My Cousin’s Cottage in Uptown Westerville for donating the tiny watering cans. Your store is adorable and it was truly a delight working with you! We appreciate your support

– Beechwold Ace Hardware in Clintonville/Worthington for donating the majority of the trowels. That was very generous of you and we are thankful for generosity!

– Lowes Home Improvements for donating more trowels and kids gloves. The employees I worked with couldn’t have been nicer. We appreciate your support!
