Alice Jane Brandon Obituary

Alice Jane Brandon, 85, was born 28th of November 1938 to Quincy and Evelyn Hammond at the Siskiyou General Hospital. She passed away in the afternoon on the 13th of May of 2024 at Fairchild Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

She loved her family greatly, sacrificing her wants and happiness at times to make sure the family succeeded and survived. She was a great cook, having her own cafe, the Fort Cafe from 1975 to 1980. She cooked and ran the Fort Bowling center restaurant for several years as well. The family joke is that the cafe never closed, it just changed locations, even if it ended up in our own home.

Alice was a very hard worker. She made close to a hundred yards of concrete, cut and stacked countless cords of firewood, and collected beautiful rock and stone. She also drove dump trucks, operated the Fort Bowl, and was a courier for Scott Valley Bank. She loved irises, lilies, and tulips, and would be on a horse whenever she could. She spent many trips to the family cabin in the Marbles. Alice was a member of Yreka No.19 Independent Order of Odd Fellows.

Alice was married three times and had four children; Mary (Ray) Nebergall, Kathryn (Dick) Aldrich, Wayne Clark, and Alfred (Mireya) Brandon. She also had three stepchildren from her marriage to Urban Elmer Brandon Jr: Urban Danniel (Shawna) Brandon, Robert Brandon, and Anna Hueston. She also had several grandchildren; Ethan Aldrich, Natalie (Adam) Miller, Kaitlyn (Kolton) Page, Shakira (Gavin) Brandon-Tobin, Nova Brandon, Quincy Brandon, Paula Mason, Billy Brandon, Shawn Brandon, other grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Quincy and Evelyn Hammond, sister Mary, son Wayne, husband Urban Brandon, and her long-time friend Kathryn Ruff (Beaty).

There will be a celebration and party, remembering her life, November 9th, 2024. The place and other ceremonies to be announced at a later date. She will be cremated with no viewing.

She will be missed, every single day of our lives.
